June 6, 2014 : BMW has finally started delivering the first batch of i8 to its customers in Germany. BMW i8 is not only the company's first but is also the world's first vehicle to feature laser lights in its headlamps. Powered by a plug-in hybrid system, the car combines a three-cylinder petrol engine with BMW Twin Power Turbo technology and BMW eDrive technology in the form of a hybrid synchronous electric motor. The car carries a 1.5-litre petrol engine churning an output of 231 bhp while the electric motor generates a power of 131 bhp and in altogether the final power output comes to 362 bhp.
